About Phil Lowe
I've worked as a coach and facilitator for 28 years.
I am particularly fired up by helping individuals find the “sweet spot” between who they really are and who their organisation needs them to be.
I have a parallel background in work psychology and the arts (I trained as an actor, and have worked as a writer most of my adult life, most recently as a screenwriter).
I am a member of the English Justice System, working with judges to decide the outcome of employment cases.
I live in London with my wife and a collection of guitars.

Critical Friends
Inviting criticism is not for the faint hearted. Indeed, the last time I asked a client for feedback, he told me he was surprised I’d never had my crooked teeth fixed. Very few of us ask directly for feedback with genuine openness. This may be because we have such a powerful critic sitting in our own head we’d rather no one else joined forces with them.
The Value of Hard Work
I can’t remember who first introduced me to the phrase ‘be careful what you wish for’. Anyway, it popped into my head this week when, after a prolonged bout of whingeing to no one in particular about how I’d had enough travelling and why does nobody ever give me any design and development work so I can stay in my office, three different clients did just that.
A Cautionary Tale
One of my mother’s great achievements during my childhood, apart from her penchant for singing obscure music hall songs, was being able to recite from memory Hilaire Belloc’s poem ‘Matilda, who told lies and got burnt to death’. She would repeat this feat on an almost weekly basis, which accounts for my strong moral core, and my nervous tic.

Client Success Stories
Head of Compliance Advice, Financial Services Firm, UK
"I would like to confirm my experience of the series of coaching sessions I had with Phil Lowe.
Phil has a terrifically relaxed style and spent some time with my line manager and with me to identify the areas I wanted to work on. We did a series of exercises and role plays, as well as debriefs and post coaching reflections. All this work with Phil really helped improve the areas I wanted to work on and I was able to secure a new role utilising the skills I worked on with him.
I found Phil to be an excellent coach and would recommend him without hesitation."
Director, Global bank
"Looking back I think Phil had come into my life at a really difficult stage both in terms of work and also my personal life. I also think if it hadn’t been for Phil, I would have found that time even more difficult to handle. Phil gave me a really safe and confidential environment to talk about work, the problems I was having and how best to handle them
The brief Phil had from my boss had been to make me more of a people person and less execution/delivery focused. Phil was clearly successful as my change in persona was recognised. I would highly recommend having a coach to anyone and I would highly recommend having Phil. I have fully benefited and enjoyed my sessions with him. Thank you Phil - you are awesome!"
